Diamond League Final
In athletics, the Diamond League season reached its climax over the weekend. Amidst the excitement, Kenyan stars Faith Kipyegon, Simon Kiprop Koech, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi shone brightly, securing well-deserved gold medals. Notably, Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay and Nigerian Tobi Amusan added to the spectacle.
Rugby World Cup
Turning our attention to the Rugby World Cup, the Springboks, led by the formidable Bongi Mbonambi, showcased dominance with a resounding 76-0 victory against Romania.
In a contrasting outcome, Namibia, under the leadership of Johan Deysel, faced a formidable challenge from the All Blacks and suffered a tough 71-3 defeat.
Weightlifting World Championships
Finally, the World Weightlifting Championships concluded with Egypt emerging as a powerhouse. Their athletes secured a total of five gold medals, one silver, and one bronze. Sara Ahmed, a standout performer from Egypt, clinched three gold medals. Karim Abokahla contributed with two golds and one silver, while Mahmoud Hassan proudly claimed the bronze.
