On Sunday, October 1st, the Springboks, led by the ever-favoured Siya Kolisi, will engage in an epic showdown against Tonga.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is scheduled to commence on October 5th and culminate on November 19th. This prestigious tournament will feature ten countries, with South Africa, led by Temba Bavuma, currently ranked fourth in the ODI Rankings, representing the African continent.
World Athletics Road Running Championships
The excitement begins in Riga, Latvia, on Sunday, October 1st, where thousands of athletes will converge to compete across various disciplines, including the Half Marathon, 5km, and mile distances, all vying for a coveted spot on the podium.
Ultra-Marathon: 13 Valleys Ultra
A breath-taking new Ultra-Marathon event, the 13 Valleys Ultra, will take place amidst the stunning landscapes of England’s Lake District National Park from September 29th to October 1st. This event is open to participants of all levels and features three ultra-distances: 60km, 100km, and 180km, along with a challenging 20km trail distance. The pinnacle of this event is the gruelling 13 Valleys distance (180km), which ranks among the most demanding ultra-running tests in the world.
COSAFA Women’s Championships
From October 4th to October 15th, South Africa, hosted in Durban, will be the hub of the COSAFA Women’s Championships. This tournament will bring together 12 diverse countries, all vying for the coveted title.
SPAR National Netball Championships
From October 2nd to October 7th, the SPAR National Netball Championships, the largest in history, will commence at the North West University Campus in Potchefstroom, South Africa. An impressive 99 teams have registered to participate, comprising nearly two thousand players and officials. The event will reach its climax with the finals on October 7th.
