The National Cycling Championships showcased talent, determination, and the pursuit of excellence in cycling. Held in various African countries between the June 17 and 26, these championships bring together athletes to compete for the coveted titles.

Mauritius

In Mauritius, Christopher Rougier-Lagane claimed victory in the Individual Time Trial Men’s category, followed closely by Alexandre Mayer and Yannick Lincoln.

 

Meanwhile, Aurelie Halbwachs dominated the Individual Time Trial Women’s event, with Raphaelle Lamusse and Llucie De Marigny-Lagesse securing the second and third positions, respectively.

 

In the U23 Men’s division, Aurelien de Comarmond emerged as the champion, with Hanson Matombe and Torea Celestin securing the second and third spots.

Rwanda

The National Championships in Rwanda witnessed outstanding performances as Moise Mugisha clinched the top spot in the Individual Time Trial Men’s category, followed by Shemu Nsengiyumva and Joseph Areruya.

Diane Ingabire showcased her prowess in the Individual Time Trial Women’s event, securing first place, with Valentine Nzayisenga and Marthe Ntakirutimana finishing second and third.

 

In the U23 Men’s category, Etienne Tuyizere emerged as the champion, while Renus Uhiriwe and Emmanuel Iradukunda managed second and third places, respectively.

Algeria

The Algerian National Championships saw Youcef Reguigui finish as the Individual Time Trial Men’s champion, followed by Mohamed Nehari and Oussama Cheblaoui.

 

Khadidja Araoui displayed her skill and determination in the Individual Time Trial Women’s category, with Yasmine El Meddah and Chahra Azzouz securing the second and third positions, respectively.

 

In the U23 Men’s division, Riyad Gouri claimed the top spot, while Hamza Amari and Abdelkrim Ferkous finished second and third places.

Ethiopia & Eritrea

In Ethiopia, Tsgabu Grmay showcased his dominance by winning the Individual Time Trial Men’s event, while Teklehaimanot Tsesfay emerged victorious in both the Individual Time Trial and Road Race Women’s categories.

 

 

In Eritrea, Amanuel Gebreigzabhier, Merhawi Kudus, and Aklilu Arefayne claimed the top three positions in the Individual Time Trial Men’s event.

Adiam Mengs showcased her talent with a first-placed finish in the Individual Time Trial Women’s event, while Awet Aman emerged victorious in the Road Race Men’s category. Kisanet Weldemichael claimed the top spot in the Road Race Women’s event, followed by Adiam Mengs and Feven Haile.

Morocco

In Morocco, Adil El Arbaoui, Achraf Ed Doghmy, and Mohcine El Kouraji displayed their skills and claimed podium finishes in the Individual Time Trial Men’s event.

Chaimae Ez-Zakraouy emerged as the champion in the Individual Time Trial Women’s category, while Nasr Eddine Maatougui, Ibrahim Essabahy, and Mohammed Najib Sanbouli showcased their talent in the U23 Men’s division.

Burkina Faso, Angola & Benin

In Burkina Faso, Paul Daumont, Boureima Nana, and Vincent Mouni secured the top three positions in the Road Race Men’s event. Lamoussa Zoungrana and Awa Bamogo claimed victory in the Road Race Women’s category.

 

Angola witnessed Igor Silva, Bruno Araujo, and Antonio Marcelino shine in the Road Race Men’s event.

 

In Benin, Rémi Sowou emerged as the champion in the Individual Time Trial Men’s event, while Emmanuel Sagbo showcased his skills in the Road Race Men’s category.

 

Marie-Paul Hermione Ahouissou displayed her dominance by claiming victory in the Individual Time Trial and Road Race Women’s events.
