The Commonwealth Youth Games and the UCI Cycling World Championships brought together athletes from diverse backgrounds, where they showcased their remarkable skills and indomitable spirit.

Leading the charge was South Africa, whose athletes secured a remarkable 20 medals, establishing their dominance in the competition. Following closely behind was Kenya, with a commendable haul of nine medals.
Nigeria, not to be outdone, claimed eight medals, while Uganda and Namibia secured three and two, respectively. This remarkable achievement underlines the commitment and hard work these athletes have invested in their respective discipline.

In the realm of cycling, the UCI Cycling World Championships saw African athletes rising to the challenge, despite the hurdles they faced in securing podium positions.
One standout figure was South African cyclist Pieter du Preez, whose unparalleled expertise shone through as he clinched gold in the Men’s Para-Cycling Road H1 ITT and the Men’s Para-Cycling H1 Road Race. Du Preez’s victories reflect his exceptional skill and highlight the inclusivity and diversity that sports can embrace.
