South Africa vs New Zealand: Rugby World Cup final
In the Rugby World Cup, the spotlight was on the fierce battle between South Africa and New Zealand in the final held on Saturday, October 28th. This match held immense significance, as the winner would secure their fourth Rugby World Cup title, a milestone that had never been achieved before.
The Springboks, led by the inspiring Siyamthanda Kolisi, displayed their brilliance, passion, and love for South Africa as they defeated the mighty All Blacks 12-11, etching their names in rugby history.
African Football League: Semi-finals
Shifting the focus to the African Football League, Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad AC emerged as the finalists after a gruelling two-legged semi-final clash.
Mamelodi Sundowns faced Al Ahly, and after two intense battles, emerged victorious with an aggregate score of 1-0. The decisive goal was scored during the first leg on October 29th, with the second leg ending in a hard-fought goalless draw on November 1st. This achievement marked a significant milestone for Mamelodi Sundowns, as they hadn’t reached a continental final since 2016.
Wydad AC, on the other hand, exhibited great determination against ES Tunis. In the first leg, Wydad AC secured a crucial 1-0 victory on Sunday, November 29th. The second leg ended in a draw, leading to a tense penalty shoot-out, which Wydad AC won 5-4, propelling them into the final of the African Football League.

In the realm of cricket, a thrilling clash unfolded on Wednesday, November 1st, as the Proteas took on New Zealand in a high-stakes Cricket World Cup match. The Proteas emerged victorious with a commanding 190-run win, marking the second time a South African team had defeated New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup.
African Hockey Road to Paris
Following a challenging pool stage held from October 29th to November 1st, eight teams have advanced to the highly anticipated semi-finals.
On the Women’s side, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa exhibited an impeccable display of talent and determination, earning themselves a coveted spot in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s category, Uganda, Egypt, Ghana, and South Africa demonstrated their prowess in the game of hockey, showcasing exceptional skill and teamwork. Their remarkable performances solidified their positions in the semi-finals.
The finals are set for Sunday, November 5th. The victorious teams in the Men’s and Women’s qualifiers will secure their spots in the 2024 Olympics.
